Frequently Asked Questions
Can a friend or family member videotape our Wedding?
Certainly, but dont expect professional results. I have been taping Weddings since 1999, and know all the ins and outs of videoing such an important event. With 2 3CCD Digital Video cameras, computer-based digital non-linear editing equipment, wireless & shotgun microphones & tripods. I can ensure a quality production.
Wont the cameramen be obtrusive and disruptive?
Every effort is made to capture your wedding with minimal fuss and the camera crew attempt to remain unnoticed, by being still and silent. At times though to get the best shot, angle or close-ups, movement and close proximity to the proceedings is required. A single monopod mounted video camera and a stationary tripod mounted wide-angle remote camera, is used to reduce interference to the service.
What if my Wedding venue has restrictions on video?
It is the clients responsibility to find out if there are any restrictions on video coverage and to notify me well in advance. Many churches have guidelines, as this is a place of worship. Although most celebrants realise the importance of video memories to the couple and families, so make allowances for video camera crews.
Will my photographer and a videographer work together?
Generally, photographers and videographers get along just fine.
Will you attend the rehearsal?
I usually will not attend the rehearsal. We will get together, prior to the wedding (about 1 month prior to the event) and will go over all your needs together. A form you fill out will also give me further information about your day. But exceptions can be arranged, if required.
How long will the finished DVD be?
Cameras are usually rolling the entire day to ensure every special moment is captured. Once edited, your Wedding video usually runs from between 15 to 30 minutes. This being the highlights version. Length may differ due to package chosen.
My experience has shown that an edited compact version of your "Wedding day" is best for general viewing. A separate title with chapters is included of all speeches in total, also the Service/Vows. Also included, a separate DVD with the "Wild" footage, which is the complete days footage with no editing, bloopers and Camera crash zooms and pans etc.
Can I make copies of my Wedding video?
You are free to make copies of your DVD/video tape for friends and family however I recommend that you order the DVD/s from me (at a cost of $20 for Single DVD, $30 double DVD in cases to ensure that the quality remains the same as the original.
When will I get my finished DVD/video?
The edited video tape(s) will be delivered to you, approx. 30 days after your wedding.
NB: this may differ depending on the demand during the wedding season.
